Products & Protocols for the “Win”

The course “Products and Protocols for the Win” will cover topics such as direct adhesive agents, Bulk Fill restoratives, ceramic-based indirect restoratives, enamel/dentin and ceramic surfaces in adhesive protocols, and standardizing protocols for long-term success. Specific areas to be discussed include selection of Bonding Agents, Air Abrasion, Bulk Fill products, ceramic restoratives decision making, and cementation protocols.

Laying it down: create beautiful anterior composite restorations

This “Laying it down” course focuses on creating beautiful anterior composite restorations using contemporary direct composite systems. Participants will learn how to conservatively and aesthetically restore teeth to mimic natural tooth structure. Key topics include shade selection, replicating natural tooth morphology, and finishing techniques. The course offers hands-on experience with composite characteristics, layering strategies, and various types of composite restorations.

Dr Troy Schmedding

Dr. Troy A. Schmedding graduated from the University of Puget Sound before getting his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1993. For 17 years, Dr. Schmedding successfully maintained a solo dental practice in Seattle, WA, before relocating with his family to California to pursue his interest in educating a future generation of dentists.

After 5 years as assistant professor in the Department of Reconstructive Dental Sciences and co-course director for Intergrated Pre-Clinical Technique at UOP Dentistry, he realized he missed direct patient interaction and purchased his current practice in Walnut Creek.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Schmedding enjoys lecturing nationally and internationally to fellow colleagues on restorative and aesthetic dentistry.

Dr. Schmedding has received accreditation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, one of approximately 600 dentists worldwide to have achieved this distinction. He also serves as a Key Opinion Leader for leading clinical material manufacturers. In his spare time, Dr. Schmedding enjoys sharing his love of fly fishing and all things outdoors with his two children and wife of 23 years.
