- A didactic and hands-on, prosthetic-driven workshop focused on predictable anterior implant prosthetics
- Emphasis on controlling soft tissue architecture through provisional and final restorations
- Integration of analog and digital workflows using the Nobel Biocare TempShell system and 3D printed provisionals
- Designed for clinicians seeking efficient, aesthetic, and reproducible anterior implant prosthetics
Morning
- Overview of the basic principles of modern implantology in the anterior zone
- Utilizing DTX Studio Implant for prosthetically driven implant planning
- Immediate temporization techniques, how to develop proper emergence profile
- Overview of Intra-oral scan bodies for a fully digital final restoration protocol
- Brief overview of modern material selection for final restorations
Afternoon: hands-on workshop
- Fabrication of a provisional crown using the Nobel TempShell system + Snap Abutment
- Contouring and polishing techniques to refine emergence profile and cervical anatomy
- Compare chairside vs digitally fabricated (printed) provisionals
- Soft tissue sculpting concepts through progressive contour modification
Dr. Scott Kirby, DMD, MSc, Cert. Prosthodontics

Dr. Scott Kirby is a dental specialist in Prosthodontics. He completed his dental degree at McGill University in 2014, then went on to complete a 2-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at the University of Connecticut.
After two years of general practice, Dr. Kirby pursued specialty training in Prosthodontics at the University of Manitoba, completing his Master of Science in 2021. Dr. Kirby has lectured nationally and internationally with a special interest in digital dentistry and implantology. Dr. Kirby maintains a full-time private practice in New Brunswick dedicated to all facets of restorative dentistry with an emphasis on traditional fixed and implant restorations as well as maintaining an Adjunct Assistant Professor position at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine.

What you will learn
By the end of this lecture and hands-on course, participants
will be able to:
- Understand the fundamental biology of bone remodeling and resorption as it relates to potential future implant placement.
- Identify and classify bone defects in edentulous sites to determine the appropriate approach for implant site development.
- Recognize the various bone graft materials and barrier membranes, learn how to handle them appropriately for extraction site grafting use.
- Perform alveolar ridge preservation and guided bone regeneration on simulated models, addressing a range of soft and hard tissue defects to enhance future implant placement outcomes.
- Demonstrate suturing techniques specifically designed to achieve primary closure in grafted and augmented sites.
- Identify common complications associated with alveolar ridge preservation in the context of implant site development and apply appropriate management strategies.
Dr. Zeeshan Sheikh, Dip. Dh, BDS, MSc, M.Perio, PhD, FRCDC, Dip-ABP

Dr. Sheikh is a Clinical Scientist in Periodontics and a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Dentistry, an Adjunct Professor at McGill University, and a Status-Only Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto.
He holds the titles of being a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. With extensive training as both a dental clinician and a biomaterials scientist, Dr. Sheikh’s expertise spans biomaterials research, clinical dentistry, surgical periodontics, and implantology.
He also practices privately at Park Lane Dental Specialists.
