    1. Digital conventional radiography — advantages and disadvantages
    2. Radiological diagnosis of the most common and/or important lesions affecting the face and jaws.
      1. Those lesions which appear radiolucent on conventional radiography
      2. Those lesions which appear radiopaque on conventional radiography
    3. Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) and the dentist.
      1. Its essential advantages (in comparison to medical CT)
        1. Superior spatial resolution
        2. Superior reduction in radiation dose
      2. Its clinical uses — used where two-dimensional (2D) conventional radiography cannot further help with a specific case.
        1. Pre-implant planning
        2. Endodontics
        3. Impacted teeth
        4. Definitive diagnosis of some lesions previously observed on conventional radiographs
        1. Affecting the maxillary sinus
        2. Diagnosis without surgical exploration
        3. Pre-operative planning and effective patient counselling
      3. Its downsides
        1. Its technique is not as easy to perform — much training and practice is required
        2. There are some major differences between the various makes.
        3. Requirement to get a radiologist to report a large field of view.
